I am reading Wicked. It's a clever & funny take on the Wizard of Oz from the perspective of the Wicked Witch of the West, tho I hafta say epic novels are a bit of a trudge sometimes. I've got 60 or so pages to go... I just ordered and received Kockroach about a cockroach who wakes up human. Can't wait to read it.
Me talk pretty is MY FAVORITE Sedaris!!!!! Laughed so hard I cried. Can't remember the last time that happened. Especially when he's describing other religions and holidays. Fuckin side splitting.

Hmm...lets see. I've been reading a bunch over the past couple of months. I'll try to remember what all I've read.
Porno by Irvine Welsh. This is the sequel to Trainspotting. I never read Trainspotting, but did see the movie. This book was pretty good, it's written in a strange Irish dialect and there are no quotation marks when someone's speaking, so once you get past those things, its good.
Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs. Pretty decent, a little funny, a little sad. Quick read.
The Vampire Chronicles, by Anne Rice (Interview w/the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and Queen of the Dammned) They were all good, Interview was just ok, but the other two were great, I thought.
I think that's it.

I can't even remember which books I've read, there have been too many.
Let's see. I just finished Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman.
Before that... Oh yeah, Obsessed, by Ted Dekker. That was a pretty fun read.
Then... oh man, how could I forget: Good Omens, by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Wonderful book. Very funny.
Let's see, a while ago I read Susannah Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. This one was hard to wade through in places, very English and very wordy sometimes, but I swear, by the last couple of chapters I was so hooked. I really love that book. And I needed to read something by Neil Gaiman after that, just to ease my withdrawal.
Right now I'm reading Already Dead by Charlie Huston, I think.... I dunno, I didn't even pick out the book. I accidentally got it in my bag due to a mixup. Didn't even realize it until I started to read it. I'm hooked. So far it's about vampires and zombies, and it's kinda noir-ish. Another fun read. :-)

Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Must read. You can knock it out in a day. Do it.
Finding Alaska. VERY good contemporary coming of age story. Seriously--I laughed out loud on page 61, I believe. And I cried real tears too..
Love Walked In. Its ok... nothing spectacular, but a good vacation book.
Little Beauties. Not worth the time.
Currently working on Brother Odd. So far it doesn't stand up to Forever Odd or Odd Thomas--but I'm only about a 5th into it.
I also picked up Why Girls are Weird, Cocktails for Three, How the Light Gets In, Carry Me Down and Thumbsucker this weekend. I think my complusions have switched from cleaning to reading...

He's good. He just writes beautifully. But it is generally SFF type stuff, so if you're not into that, then you might like him a bit less. :-) He wrote a children's book that is hard to find, but well worth it: it's called Coraline. Good place to start. Damn good book. I will never look at black buttons the same again. My favorite of his is Neverwhere. Also... hmmm. Well, Fragile things had several wonderful short stories. "A Study in Emerald" was Sherlock Holmes meets the world of HP Lovecraft. And there was another story called Goliath. Well, you just have to read it. Here it is: whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/cmp/neil_g.htmlenjoy! Well, it's my kinda thing, anyway. I finished that Charlie Huston book. It was really quite good. Very fun, and addicting.

The good stuff. Not that it's sci-fi but wanted to read Zodiac Unmasked before I saw the movie so starting tonight. Hoping for sweet dreams despite it. Thanks for the hot tip, ID!

Oh that's right! I can't believe I forgot that. You love PKD.
Duhh. Seems like I have taken a can't-think pill lately.
Let me know how Zodiac unmasked is. I, too, cannot wait to see the movie.
