1. Do you like scary movies?
I used to but too many of my life events qualify as really scary so I am over them now.
2. What's your favorite silly/cheesy/bad movie?
I just saw Talladega Nights and since I have a short term memory- this qualifies as a favorite silly/cheesy/bad movie but I rented Anchorman just days after TN and it made me cry I was laughing so hard. So...
3. Hot or not: Snakes On A Plane?
NOT. What was SLJ thinking? I guess we all gotta work but this is fucking sad IMO.
4. How often do you go to the movies?
Once every coupla months. Otherwise it's Netflix or the IFC. I just saw Monster (shudder) for the first time a few weeks ago.
5. What is your favorite movie genre?
Can't say. I guess Foreign or Independent usually.

1. Do you like scary movies? Yes. But I can only watch them with other people. I went to see "The Descent" the other night with a friend. And even though it was my idea, I swear to god, the first 30 minutes I was on the verge of chickening out, kept thinking, "hell, Talladega Nights is playing in the next theatre, why don't we go see that?"
But it was well worth it. It's hard to get scary movies right, you know? Usually they're either way over-the-top torture stuff (I do NOT like those) or they turn stupid. The Descent was actually one of the rare good ones.
2. What's your favorite silly/cheesy/bad movie?
Zoolander. I have not seen Super Troopers, although I really would like to.
3. Hot or not: Snakes On A Plane?
N O T. I was astounded to see that it got a high rating on RottenTomatoes.com, although all of the reviewers I read, while giving it a great rating, said it was BAD. How does that work? Is it a side effect of the marketing this thing got, or the emporer's new clothes, or what? Ick.
4. How often do you go to the movies?
2-4 times a month
5. What is your favorite movie genre?
hmmm. Sci-Fi, I think. Another one that is too easy to put in the crapper. After that, comedy.

1. Do you like scary movies? Yes. Always have, always will. It seems that the older I get though, the less gore I enjoy and seem to appreciate the psychological scare more. However some good old fashioned silly scare is cool too.2. What's your favorite silly/cheesy/bad movie? Oh God, so many. Dr. Strangelove, Super Troopers, Snakes on a Plane....3. Hot or not: Snakes On A Plane? So f-ing hot! ID, the rottentomatoes rating thing is giving a great rating to a bad movie. It's so bad it's great, ya know? Like Transylvania 6-5000 or The Man with the Screaming Brain kinda thing. I absolutely loved it. Just the silliness of it all. If you go to see it with absolute suspension of disbelief and a light attitude, it's fantastic mindless entertainment.4. How often do you go to the movies? Not nearly enough. I used to be more of a seasonal movie goer, but they even release good stuff in the summer now too.5. What is your favorite movie genre? Hard for me to answer. I adore film as an art form and have even dabbled in film making. I'm more a follower of directors rather than genres or actors. My favorites of those are:
1. Kubrick and Hitchcock 2. Kazan and Malick 3. Fincher.
Sounds pretentious but hey, you asked.

So I'll have to go see it. The thing that confused me about the reviews was, well, they said things like "this movie is so bad it's gouda" (LOL), but then they scored it highly. I keep wondering, does it ever cross the line into the comedic (besides the premise), or does it try to stick to the action flick thing throughout (how seriously does it take itself--aside from the marketing)? Of course, the first time I saw the trailer was in a theater, and when they finally revealed the name of the movie, everyone in the auditorium laughed their asses off. LOL, I just need to go see it. Thanks for the info, WD. I think if you liked it, I'll like it.

I don't think anybody involved took this seriously. Go see it, trust me. Shit, I'll go see it again with you. Tonight, this weekend, anytime.
