This might sound really stupid..... (but that's why I'm "confessing" it instead of starting a new thread)
Have you ever looked at something (like the sky, or a car, or a building, or a person) and just felt like it was "wrong" somehow?
I was just returning to my desk after a much-resented pee break (sometimes I just hate having to walk so far when I really need to keep my concentration), and I was looking out the windows to the north of the building. Something about the sky looked really.... wrong. It's dark in the northwest, not completely, just not as it should be this time of day (even on a stormy day).... it's just eerie.
I went to those windows and looked, trying to understand what it was that felt so wrong. It's a huge cloud, of course, and it's dark enough and big enough to block out the sun from that angle. I know I've seen clouds in that part of the sky before, it's just that, I don't remember when they've had quite that darkening effect on that side of the sky/valley, plus it's been sunny all day, and this cloud has such smooth edges you have to look for awhile to see where it begins and ends. It's just a cloud, but the effect is what is eerie, to me: half the sky is dark, and not the half that should be, this time of day, this time of year. It just feels ominous, for some reason.
It's so weird, how something as subtle as the angle of the natural light around us can affect us. <shudder>
but what can I say? I'm a freak

And they're also my favorite breakfast.
