Ok, I'm really confused. Last night when I finally got to my computer I saw the locked thread on the other site, which of course sparked my curiosity and I decided to take a peek at it. If I'm not supposed to talk about it directly, sorry, I'm not sure about what you can and can't say directly.

Anyway, I don't see why it got blown out of preportion. I personally think the inital point at the start of the thread was nothing more than a heads up. I think it was a valid point. Sometimes I type things without thinking, but most of the time I do try to think about what I'm saying before I say it. Not because I think they won't like me, but because I try to be considerate of other people's feelings in general. It doesn't always work that way in my life in general, but on the computer I have time to think about what I'm saying before I give a response. Plus there is the handy delete button if I change my mind at the last minute.

Somehow a disagreement turned into a full blown attack of the thread starters character, which is just plain stupid. No one was trying to censor anyone, why shouldn't everyone be able to express their opinions? It would have been different if the the thread had started something like, "look here assholes, you better stop name calling or I'm gonna sucker punch you and step on your throat", that would have been an attack, pointing out that maybe people should be curtious of other people's feeling was a suggestion. And not the creepy cult kind of a suggestion of do it or pay, but an actual real world suggestion.

Why should someone have to PM a person privately to get their point across? Loads of kool-aid drinker are openly disagreed with on a daily basis, no one PM's them to tell them they're full of shit. How is it any different for those who are out? I personally don't want to take part in any "us vs. them" mind set, regarless of which side I'm on. I think what's good for the goose is good for the gander, or something like that. Making fun of people, especially their looks, is wrong. And wrong is wrong whether your in a cult or not. The world is not as black and white as cult=bad, not in cult=good. If someone chooses to point out something that I've done they don't agree with I usually do one of two things, ignore them, or listen to what they have to say. I do not attack their character or acuse them of holding me back from living my life the way I want to.

I understand when you get a group of ex-cult members together everyone is suspicious, and everyone will question motives, but sometimes a duck is just a duck. Again I'm sorry if I shouldn't openly discuss this, but damnit I had some shit to say and the other thread was locked before I had a chance. I normally don't want to stir any pots, but I really just don't see how that thread turned into such a big issue.

Yeah, my rant was mostly to unleash all the pent up profanity swirling around in my head due to my inability to use it . I wasn't nearly as PO'd as it might have looked, although it was great to get that energy out. haha

OK, I have to do this. I was not able to say it there, so I just need to say it here and get it out of my system. I'm not trying to talk trash about anyone, I just have unfinished business.

I thought that, for someone who couldn't care less about what other people said or thought about him, uptight you know who was getting awfully worked up about someone speaking their mind, especially since ith ad nothing to do with him.

And I agree about the looks thing. It's one thing to talk about how behaviors were influenced by the group mindset etc, but it's another thing to make fun of people's looks, it's just wrong, and it's just more of the group- influenced BS. GRRR

I agree. I don't understand how my heads up turned into calling me delusion and accusing me of trying to be perfect and press my oppressive views on others. I mean golly gee, maybe I should think of getting myself a tiny country and becoming it's dictator. Another point: If you find, in the "real world" that people talk shit about you and start rumors about behind your back, maybe you need to evaluate these two things:

1. What kind of person are you that people feel the need to make up shit about you and talk bad about you behind your back? You must have a sparkling personality to garner that much attention.

2. What kind of people are you making the aquaintance of that they would do that to you? I know I don't choose to hang out with shit talkers and back stabbers. The friends I do have address me openly and honestly about my transgressions.

Delusional? No. A grown up who chooses to surround herself with grown up people? Um....yep!

I have decided that for my own sanity, I won't be dragged into serious conversations over there. I think my own thoughts and express how I feel. And I don't want to have to keep defending that.

If anyone from over there wants to know what I think they can read my blog, or read here, or email me. But, I'm guessing the greater world doesn't give a fuck, which is a-ok by me.

I will keep active there tho... because I want to be around if/when people show that I need resolution with. Or if any of the fucksticks that haven't responded to me since last August decide to get off their ass and own shit.

I absolutely agree with you Sonia. It appears to me that some of the people involved don't see what they're saying as inappropriate, probably because they have been doing it for so long (in the cult).

I will say what I already said over there...its just a matter of being respectful of other people. It is something I try to do for me to be able to live with myself. I know its something I didn't ever do when I was in the cult because I thought the world revolved around me and that if someone was offended by what I said, then that was their problem. Well, it is their problem, but the fact of the matter is, I prefer to treat other people with respect. period. To me, calling someone horseface or telling their life story on a message board is not respectful.

While I appreciate the concern for the "integrity" of the board, if we didn't erase the cock eye post or the pope thread or the lego porn, we sure as shit aren't gonna erase you guys speaking out and being honest about who you are and what you feel is right and wrong. You guys would have to pull some serious Nazi propaganda bullshit to get erased around here.

You guys rock and we made this board and continue to moderate as it fits those who grace us with their posts here.
